Paul Bennett, Principal

Prior to joining Barker Mohandas, Paul Bennett was principal engineer for
mechanical systems at the Otis worldwide research and development engineering
center in the USA. He has also been project manager at the Otis factory in the UK
where he led design teams for special contracts such as the Channel Tunnel boring
machine elevator and high-rise construction elevators. Paul led product development
of new elevator safety systems for tall buildings, and is expert in related elevator codes
followed worldwide. He holds 20 Otis patents including for the “Odyssey” vertical and
horizontal transportation system, and was responsible for designing and testing many
elevator subsystems for Otis. Paul is a Fellow of the UK Institution of Mechanical
Engineers, a UK Chartered Engineer, and a member of the Fédération Européenne
d'Associations Nationales d'Ingénieurs (FEANI). Paul also holds and MBA and has
been involved in several elevator commercial roles throughout his career.
